Well... June wasn't exactly the quiet month I'd planned.
Somewhere between trying to juggle writing, marketing, social media and life in general, I managed to hit burnout harder than I'd like to admit. That little adventure was followed by being whisked off to the hospital and promptly quarantined with suspected meningitis.
Not quite the plot twist I had in mind.
Thankfully, it turned out not to be meningitis, and after making what I'm choosing to call my "great escape" from the hospital after being locked in a room for 3 days and taunted by a TV with no remote, I did exactly what any sensible person would do...
I went straight to Download Festival.
Well, two days after.
Probably not my finest life choice, but it was one hell of a weekend.
Once I got home, reality caught up with me. I've spent the last couple of weeks taking a step back and reminding myself that books don't get written if the author runs themselves into the ground. I'm still writing every week, but I'm also forcing myself to switch off occasionally—a lesson I'm clearly still learning. What is this thing you call a day off?
Because of that, What You Wish For is going to be pushed back slightly. I'd rather take a little longer and give you the book it deserves than rush it.
The good news?
Fit for a King is charging ahead and has now passed 55,000 words. Ash and Hayley have absolutely refused to behave, the tension is building nicely, and I genuinely think Book Four is going to be the most explosive instalment of The Obsidian Games so far.
Behind the scenes, I've also been working on a few exciting things. I've been diving deeper into character development (which usually means my characters are making terrible life choices while I watch with popcorn), planning new ideas for the Discord community, and putting together brand-new signed book inserts that I can't wait to share.
If you'd like to come and hang out with us, join the Discord here:
It's quickly becoming a brilliant little community full of readers, chaos and behind-the-scenes snippets you won't find anywhere else.

Finally, I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who applied for the Street Team. Applications are now closed, and honestly... I'm blown away.
Out of everyone who could have signed up to support my books, you chose mine.
Thank you for joining my pack of absolute chaos gremlins. I genuinely can't wait to see what we accomplish together over the coming months.
As always, thank you for reading, supporting, recommending the books to friends, leaving reviews and cheering me on. Every message, every comment and every purchase means far more than I can ever put into words.
Here's hoping July is a little less dramatic...
Although knowing my life, I probably shouldn't tempt fate....maybe I should check the Tarot cards
