Reader reactions: Emotional Stability optional

The way this story had a grip on me from the first page was intense! Who doesn’t love a story of betrayal and vengeance?! The character development of every single person in this book was incredible. It has all of the emotions. From happiness to sadness to rage and everything in between. I love a story that shows a fathers love in a positive light! As a daddy’s girl myself, I don’t come across too many stories where it’s not the MC’s parent or parents who are the original villain or original cause of trauma. Watching Amara grow and taking her own life back and her own life into her own hands had me screaming “GET ‘EM GIRL!” Now I’m going to immediately start Wrath of Amara because I NEED to know what happens!

Mark of Amara pulled me in with its dark atmosphere, revenge, secrets, and emotional storyline. Amara is such a strong character, and I really enjoyed watching her find her strength again after everything she’s been through. Her connection with Caleb added just the right amount of chemistry and tension.

There are plenty of twists, danger, morally gray characters, and moments that kept me turning the pages. I also really liked the mix of romance and suspense because it kept the story moving without taking away from Amara’s journey.

This is definitely a darker romance with some heavy themes, so check the trigger warnings before reading. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I’m definitely ready to see where Amara’s story goes next!

excellent debut from this author.

Amaras journey was a roller coaster from start to finish. She flourished into the toughest version of herself. Caleb fell for her and who could blame him. There relationship grew perfectly. I cannot wait to see what twists and turns book 2 brings.

The ending of mark of Amara was intense and full of suspense. The last few chapters have you turning the pages so quickly!

I adore an author who writes a good villain and EJ Whitehead delivers the most deliciously evil villains. I wanted to strangle them! 😅

I have waited impatiently for book two of Obsidian Games. The cliff I was standing on after the last book made this book my obsession. We saw our girl Amara and her team as she fights to save her man. She is the most badass woman but there was one particular chapter where I’m pretty sure I didn’t take a single breath!

This book is 5 stars with no notes. EJW delivers perfect DR and I am here for it.

Well, what can I say about this book? It grabbed me by the heart it grabbed me by the head and it grabbed me by the soul. This book broke me, fixed me, made me laugh and made me cry. Oh, Amara you are one magnificent character. You were broken and yet you kept on going you worked your way through life to get what you wanted. Emma you are one amazing and talented author both of these books had me hooked and I just want more. And just to get my fix, I’m gonna have to read them again. I NEED more of Amara, Caleb, Knight, King and Castle. I need their stories and i need them NOW! The way the story is written is not only talented but clever, having someone’s emotions, feelings and life be so tragic it can’t help but drag you in to hear more. If you’re reading this review and haven’t read Mark of Amara - read it because the books just get better!

Wrath of Amara was so good! It answered a lot of questions I had from Mark of Amara and answered questions I didn’t even know I had! Found family with fierce FMCs who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty and save themselves is one of my all time favorite plots! This book has it all! Heartfelt moments along with heartbreaking times. Hilarious times to brutal battles. Don’t even get me started on the plot twists I never saw coming!

The Tower Has Fallen by EJ Whitehead is the 3rd book in the emotionally charged dark romance series Obsidian Games.

The story is full of suspense, intrigue and of course unforgettable characters, the plot is full of twists and turns that will keep you in a chockhold until the very last page.

The pace of the story is well balanced with the the character growth and the secrets and surprises that are revealed throughout.

EJ Whiteheads writing is engaging and vivid making the story truly unforgettable and leaves a lasting impact .

If you are a fan of dark, suspenseful and atmospheric romance which are character and plot driven the I HIGHLY recommend picking this book and series up you will not regret it.

I LOVED this book. I loved it so much that I’m going to go back and read the first 2 books!!!

I went in blind without knowledge of the first 2 and I feel like I’m for sure missing out so on my way to read them now….

I felt like it was quite the slow burn to the Spice but once we got there my Oh my 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Definitely looking forward to the next installment 😊

A gritty, high-stakes ride that kept me guessing. It’s incredibly rare that I can't accurately predict a plot, but this one kept me piecing things together until the very last page! I absolutely love this whole series! I am highly anticipating the next book in this series and will be telling everyone who will listen about this indie author’s captivating characters!

Ok wow this one got me good. This is book 3 in the obsidian games, however it's more of a prequel. It does leave you wanting the next book. It was great seeing all the past characters and seeing how everything started. Same intense twisted darkness so check your trigger warnings. Overall good read!!

Emma has smashed it out the park yet again! Ash has had my heart since the very beginning and he still has my heart now. This book had me screaming at my kindle cheering them on and screaming at Amelia in anger- hate that woman . The twists the turns and the new characters are all amazing, I’m excited to see where the characters go!
You won’t be disappointed ❤️

Oh my god this book brings it all. The spice is something else, you’ll see 👀. I already want to re read this book. Hayley’s story is a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Wow. Just WOW. It’s dark, it’s addicting, it’s intense and from the beginning it completely pulls you in. My favourite quote is ‘Hey wild card, I always loved the sight of you on your knees’
A story where trust is difficult to earn, but the only option to survive, I really did just devour this book. For me, I loved the cat and mouse feel 👌🏼

Have to say aswell…. Amelia is officially one my most hated book villains
Another 5⭐️ book from this author

Fit for a King is an absolute adrenaline rush from start to finish! E.J. Whitehead delivers on every single front when it comes to high-stakes pacing, heart-pounding action, and immersive world building.

The standout elements for me were the ops and jobs. Every tactical sequence is brilliantly plotted, keeping you entirely on the edge of your seat. Whitehead's use of descriptive language is truly cinematic; the way she sets a scene pulls you right into the atmosphere, making every shadowy corner and tense standoff feel intensely vivid.
(Plus, that moment when King FINALLY stands up to Amelia, with his entire team backing him up? Pure perfection.)

E.J. Whitehead has done it again with another amazing book, this series just keeps getting better and better.

It had me hooked from the very first pages, so much so I was even reading it whilst at a music festival in Birmingham at the weekend. Metal music and dark romance goes really well together!!

Castle (Hayley) is an absolutely feral FMC with blood lust and I loved it. Give me strong powerful female characters any day.

Queen (Amelia) can do one, no one likes her, no one wants her around, she can disappear for all I care. Although I do want to know more about her backstory and why she is the way she is.

I think Havoc (Theo) & Casanova (Rowan) could become my new favourite characters, they are unhinged in all the right ways.

I cannot wait to find out whose story will be next.

– Bound By Ink Books

This book was incredible. It was so worth the wait after The Tower Has Fallen. From just the prologue I was hooked. I absolutely devoured this book in what was probably only 12 combined hours over the span of 2 days. I couldn't put it down. All I have done over the last 2 days is read this book.

This honestly was the best sequel that could've come after The Tower Has Fallen. It had amazing new characters (Kieran, Theo, Rowan and Hunter I cannot wait to learn more of your stories). The plot and the events were incredible. The anticipation for what was going to happen had me clutching my pearls.

This was the first of many messages the Street Team have gotten from me over the past 2 days:
"I'm 55 pages in and I've already giggled and kicked my feet, almost cried, and been annoyed, Emma you're responsible for my extra therapy and emotional turmoil"

The tension was so thick it "could be be cut with a spoon" as Hayley would say. The longing, the yearning, the want. Ash just got better and better the whole way through the book.

I can say without a doubt that this has been my favorite in the series so far. I've never finished a book so quickly in my life. Emma just can't seem to write a bad book.

My only problem is it makes me sad that Ash doesn't actually exist.
